§ 2-27. BOARD OF HEALTH.

2-27.1 Established. There shall be a Board of Health consisting of seven (7) members appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council. Members shall be appointed for a term of three (3) years. Appointments to fill vacancies shall be made in the same manner as original appointments for the unexpired term only.

2-27.2 Powers and Duties. The Board of Health shall have the power and authority to adopt ordinances relating to the protection of the health of Borough residents; shall adopt rules and regulations for its own government; shall elect a President from among its own members; shall employ necessary personnel and fix their salaries; and shall have under its jurisdiction the Bureau of Vital Statistics, the Health Officer and any other employees needed to carry out its duties. The Board of Health shall have the jurisdiction conferred upon boards of health by Title 26 of the Revised Statutes.
