§ 2-39. INTERLOCAL SERVICES.

  • 2-39.1 Fire Protection Services. The Commissioners of Fire District No. 1, in the Township of East Brunswick, through the Old Bridge Volunteer Fire Company, shall provide fire protection services to an area along Jernee Mill Road during the term of this agreement. Said services will consist of a prompt response to fire alarms provided that the obligation is dependent on the availability of manpower and equipment to be provided by the Old Bridge Voluntary Fire Company.

    2-39.2 Procedure to Route Calls. The Borough of Sayreville shall advise its residents to forward any fire alarms to the East Brunswick Township Police Department and to indicate that the call is from the territory within the coverage area of the Old Bridge Fire Company, provided that any calls routed to the Sayreville Police or Fire forces shall then be transmitted to the East Brunswick Township Police Department.

    2-39.3 Apparatus and Equipment. The Commissioners of Fire District No. 1 shall provide and maintain its own fire apparatus and equipment.

    2-39.4 Fee for Service. The Borough of Sayreville shall pay to the Board the amount of twenty two thousand five hundred ($22,500.00) dollars, which sum shall be paid in the following manner:

    a.

    The sum of seven thousand five hundred ($7,500.00) dollars for the period from March 1, 1998 to February 29, 1999, which payment is to be made as follows: May 1, 1998 or upon final execution of this Agreement—one thousand eight hundred seventy-five ($1,875.00) dollars; August 1, 1998—one thousand eight hundred seventy-five ($1,875.00) dollars; November 1, 1998—one thousand eight hundred seventy-five ($1,875.00) dollars; and January 1, 1998—one thousand eight hundred seventy-five ($1,875.00) dollars.

    b.

    The sum of seven thousand five hundred ($7,500.00) dollars for the period from March 1, 1999 to February 28, 2000, which payment is to be made as follows: May 1, 1999—one thousand eight hundred seventy-five ($1,875.00) dollars; August 1, 1999—one thousand eight hundred seventy-five ($1,875.00) dollars; November 1, 1999—one thousand eight hundred seventy-five ($1,875.00) dollars; and January 1, 2000—one thousand eight hundred seventy-five ($1,875.00) dollars.

    c.

    The sum of seven thousand five hundred ($7,500.00) dollars for the period from March 1, 2000 to February 28, 2001, which payment is to be made as follows: May 1, 2000—one thousand eight hundred seventy-five ($1,875.00) dollars; August 1, 2000—one thousand eight hundred seventy-five ($1,875.00) dollars; November 1, 2000—one thousand eight hundred seventy-five ($1,875.00) dollars; and January 1, 2001—one thousand eight hundred seventy-five ($1,875.00) dollars.

    2-39.5 Contingent Conditions. This agreement shall be contingent upon sufficient funds being appropriated each year and included in the municipal budget for the Borough of Sayreville.
