§ 5-12. GAMES OF CHANCE.

  • 5-12.1 Bingo and Raffles Authorized. Pursuant to Chapters 5 and 6 of the 1954 Laws of New Jersey, this section is enacted for the express purpose of authorizing bona fide veterans, charitable, educational, religious or fraternal organizations, civic and service clubs, volunteer fire companies and first-aid or rescue squads hold, operate and conduct games of chance commonly known as bingo and raffles within the Borough in accordance with the Bingo Licensing Law and the Raffles Licensing Law and pursuant to the rules and regulations issued or to be promulgated by the Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission in the Department of State of the State of New Jersey.

    5-12.2 Rules and Regulations. All applications and licenses to hold, operate and conduct games of chance commonly known as bingo and raffles shall be subject to the provisions of the laws and rules and regulations cited in Subsection 5-12.1 and any laws, rules and regulations hereafter enacted; and shall be further subject to the provisions of this section.

    5-12.3 Sunday Restrictions. No games of chance shall be conducted under any license issued by the Borough under this section on Sunday unless it shall specifically provide in the license for the holding, operating, and conducting thereof on that day.
