§ 19-1. DEFINITIONS.

  • As used in this Chapter:

    Barrier. A fence, wall, building or combination thereof which completely surrounds the swimming pool and obstructs access to the swimming pool.

    Residential. That which is situated on the premises of a detached one- or two-family or a one-family townhouse not more than three (3) stories in height.

    Swimming pool. Any structure intended for swimming or recreational bathing that contains water over twenty-four (24") inches deep. This includes in-ground, above-ground, and on-ground swimming pools, hot tubs and spas.

    Wading pool. Shall mean artificially constructed pools not designed or used for swimming, with a maximum area of one hundred (100) square feet and a maximum water depth of twelve (12") inches. This Chapter shall not cover wading pools which are portable.
